LAUNCHING CEREMONY OF SMART SCIENCE LAB CLASSROOM AT LINH CHIEU PRIMARY SCHOOL

On 28th March 2022, the inauguration ceremony of Smart Lab Science Class was held at Linh Chieu Primary School, Thu Duc City. The ceremony had the participation of Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, Director of Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies (CVSEAS); Mrs Grace Soyun Jung - CEO of Xinchao ScienceEdu (project coordinator); Mr Nguyen Minh Thien Hoang, Deputy Head of Office of Primary Education, DoET HCMC; Mr Nguyen Thai Vinh Nguyen, Head of DoET of Thu Duc City; Excellency Shim Jae Yoon - Consulate General of the Republic of Korea; Mrs Ta Thi Tuyet Mai, Principal of Linh Chieu Primary school and representatives of parents council.
Smart Science Lab Class is a pilot project funded by the Korean government, aiming to establish a smart classroom, which is a part of a joint program between Korea and Vietnam. CVSEAS collaborates with Xinchao ScienceEdu to support the company in working with the educational departments, government agencies, school as well as other participants.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Nguyen, Head of DoET of Thu Duc City said that the project had been approved by MOET. Linh Chieu Primary school located in Thu Duc City was honorably selected to participate in the project. Coordinated by Xinchao Science Edu and funded by the Korean government, the project’s objective is to  provide digital education based on technology. The Smart Science Class is equipped with smart devices such as tablets, TV and VR headsets so that students can experience study content as well as modern technology.  
Mr Nguyen Thai Vinh Nguyen, Head of DoET of Thu Duc City, is delivering the opening remarks.
Delivering the opening speech, Excellency Shim Jae Yoon, Consulate General of the Republic of Korea highly stressed the importance of smart education, especially in the last few years with the existence during the Covid-19 pandemic. If VR technology like VR headsets is used in teaching, it will bring huge benefits, noted H.E Shim. He also expressed his hope that the Smart Science Lab class would be introduced not only in HCMC but also in other provinces and cities across Vietnam.

Mrs. Grace Soyun Jung, CEO of Xinchao ScienceEdu, said the aim of the project was to bridge the gap in technology-based education. In her speech, she showed her sincere gratitude to the MoET, sponsors, schools and other participants involved in the project for their support. She also reaffirmed her commitment to achieve the project's deliverables, in order to provide access to up-to-date technology in education for public school students.
