MEETING AND SHARING COOPERATION IN BANGKOK, THAILAND

On March 27, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Hong Xuan, Director of the Center for Vietnam and Southeast Asian Studies and President of the Vietnam - Southeast Asia Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City, along with Mr Phan Hieu Nghia (MA), General Secretary of the Vietnam - Southeast Asia Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City, visited the ICONSIAM in Bangkok, Thailand. They attended a sharing session to explore cooperation opportunities with multinational partners in the region.
The program was attended by Ms. Kanoklada Rerkasem, Special Project Consultant and Former President of Siam Piwat Group; Mr. Pon Buranakit, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Investment Division of Siam Piwat Group; Ms. Pawina Gajaseni, Vice President of Business Development and Investment Division of Siam Piwat Group; Ms. Woraporn Thiranuchit, Senior Department Manager of Business Development and Investment Division of Siam Piwat Group; Mr. Sakul Intakul, Thailand’s leading flower artist; as well as corporate ambassadors and guests from within and outside the region. During her visit, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phan Thi Hong Xuan had extensive discussions about development cooperation opportunities, particularly in the fields of education, health, and culture.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phan Thi Hong Xuan made a favorable impression on the leaders of Siam Piwat Group and its international partners, who are politicians and businessmen. The partners expressed their hope for practical and meaningful research cooperation programs between the parties and the Center for Vietnam and Southeast Asia Studies in the upcoming future. Notable achievements during the business trip included an agreement to receive and guide students in learning about the architectural model of the ICONSIAM based on local cultural heritage, as well as coordination to expand training courses on design and research on flower arranging art and its practical applications.
In addition, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Hong Xuan also had a working program with Ms. Pham Thi Thu Phuong, Director of JNP Trading and Service Company, to design programs that would allow students studying Thai at the Center to visit and practice the language in the local area. At the same time, they discussed designing other academic travel programs based on the demands of units, companies, and schools.

Furthermore, on this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Hong Xuan also discussed cooperation on Vietnamese language training for the Thai community with Mr. Nguyen Van Minh, Chairman of the Thai-Vietnamese Businessmen Association in Bangkok and neighboring provinces. All of the above cooperation agreements serve as a foundation for implementing the functions and missions of the Center for Vietnam and Southeast Asian Studies, strengthening the Center's position in relationships with partners within and outside the region.
To express friendship and promote cultural exchange during the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Hong Xuan and representatives of the Siam Piwat Group exchanged souvenirs as a gesture of solidarity and determination to realize agreements and cooperation programs.
