BUSINESS BRUNCH BETWEEN BUSINESS LEADERS AND FACULTY HEADS ABOUT V2WORK PROJECT PLANNING IN 2021

On December 26th, 2020, the executive committee of project V2WORK had a business brunch with the business representatives and the faculty heads on discussing the operational assessment of the Center for Career Orientation and planning further cooperation between the higher education institutions and business units in order to improve graduates’ employability.

ENCOURAGING THE HUMANISTIC VALUES OF THE LAW FOR SENIOR CITIZENS The Center for Rural Development – Saemaul Undong (CRD-SU), University of Social Sciences and Humanities – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (USSH – VNUHCM) built up a project named: “Truyền thống “Già cậy con” và Luật Người Cao tuổi: Rào cản và khuyến nghị tư pháp qua nghiên cứu thực trạng thực hiện Luật Người Cao tuổi tại tỉnh Đồng Tháp” (The tradition “The older’s dependence on their children” and the Law for Senior Citizens: Barriers and Recommendations to the Justice system through the execution of this Law in Dong Thap Province). This project was funded by JIFF Foundation and OXFAM Organization in Vietnam.  

V2WORK – CAREER DAY 2

On the morning of December 26th, 2020, in the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Dinh Tien Hoang campus, Career Day 2 was jointly organized by the V2WORK’s Board of Management and Faculty of International Relations - HCM-USSH.

CAREER DAY PROVIDES STUDENTS WITH INSIGHTS BEFORE GRADUATION On Dec 26, Center for Vietnam and Southeast Asian Studies (CVSEAS), Faculty of International Relations and VNUHCM USSH collaborated with Ho Chi Minh City departments in holding Career Day 2 as an opportunity for students to meet local businesses and governmental departments; thus providing students with insights before they enter the workforce.   

DISCUSSION ON SUSTAINABLE TOURISM AT GRAND SAIGON HOTEL POST COVID-19 On Dec 23rd afternoon, continuing the  activities of TOURIST* project, CVSEAS had a meeting with managers of the Grand Saigon Hotel, discussing developing sustainable tourism services post Covid-19.  

DILIGENCE, SELF-HELP AND COLLABORATION: MOTTO FOR NEW RURAL DEVELOPMENT

On December 18th and 19th, 2020, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam – Director of the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, attended the ‘2020 Saemaul Curriculum’ training session. The event was hosted by the Center for Rural Development – Saemaul Undong (CRD-SU), University of Social Sciences and Humanities – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (USSH-VNUHCM).

VIETNAM: IDEA OF AN ASEAN COMMUNITY TAKING ROOT

THE 2020 INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM HOSTED BY PROVIDENCE UNIVERSITY IN TAIWAN On December 11th, 2020, the representatives of the Center for Southeast Asian Studies attended the online conference 2020 between India, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, and Indonesia about the topic: “Asian Management Education and Advancing Women in Business”. The conference was held by Providence University, Taiwan with the participation of economists and experts in business management from a variety of countries and organizations. WORKSHOP: ECO-CULTURAL TOURISM DEVELOPMENT IN NINH THUAN LOTUS VILLAGE

On December 7th, 2020, the executive committee of TOURIST project and TOURIST’s members had a workshop with Dr. Quang Dai Tuyen - Lecturer of Faculty of Tourism - Van Lang University about the development of eco-cultural tourism of lotus village in Ninh Thuan province. The workshop had the participation of Dr. Tran Dinh Lam - Director of CVSEAS and Ms. Le Nhat Tan - Joie Garden Vietnam Co. Ltd. The workshop was within the framework of work package No.4 implementing the Center for Development of Sustainable Tourism.

LIVE SEMINAR ON VIETNAM AND ASEAN – ACHIEVEMENT, ISSUES AND PROSPECTS IN THE NEW ERA

On the morning of November 30, 2020, at the invitation of the Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, Director of the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asians Studies, participated in the live Seminar on “Vietnam and ASEAN -  Achievement, Issues and Prospects in the New Era”. The discussion also welcomed Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phan Thi Hong Xuan, Chairwoman of The Ho Chi Minh City’s Vietnam – ASEAN Friendship Association. The Seminar was organized at the Van Khoa Meeting-hall of the HCMC University of Social Sciences and Humanities with the participation of students from  many universities such as Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages – Information Technology, University of Law, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. The Seminar was also livestreamed on the website of the Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
