To enhance the cultural exchange between Vietnam and Japan, CVSEASs cooperated with Kanae bookstore (Japan) to hold a competition on translating Vietnamese short stories into Japanese. On May 9, 2009 CVSEAS held the first awarding ceremony of the competition.
On the morning of April 8, 2009, Prof. Yoshiaki Takahashi (Chuo University, Japan) paid a visit to CVSEAS. Professor cordially introduced to Center a precious currently-published book“Business Management and Enterprise Management in Japan”.
On April 23 2009, CVSEAS had a meeting with Prof. Dr. Karl-Fritz Daiber on the occasion of his trip to Vietnam. Visiting Vietnam as a tourist and also a researcher in Confucianism, Prof. Dr. Daiber has discovered some interesting notices in this Oriental country.

Being born in the context of international exchanges increasingly expanded, the relationship between Vietnam and Japan has been affirmed after 35 years of cooperation, the Information Technology (IT) Japanese class (co-organized by CVSEAS and Center for Japanese Studies, USSH-VNUHCM) promises a potential human resource quality which the class offers. CVSEAS had a chat session and interview with Satoru Miyazawa, Director-General of Koushin Group Japan, on the potential market and career opportunities for those who study IT Japanese and now, when Japan’s IT companies are investing more and more into Vietnam market.
The program was held by the cabinet of Vietnam National University - Hồ Chí Minh City in co-ordination with the Directorate of Tiền Giang Political School on March 24, 2009. In his opening speech, Dr. Nguyễn Tiến Dũng, Chief of the Cabinet of Vietnam National University - Hồ Chí Minh city, praised the sensitivity of the local authorities in creating favorable conditions for the leading cadres to approach the knowledge of international integration, especially in the current context when the whole world has been facing the financial crisis.
On March 4, 2009, CVSEAS held a seminar "Under the world's financial crisis - What now for Vietnam?" that was presented by Mr. Hori Koichi, President of administration council of Dream Incubator stock company. The financial crisis has taken place simultaneously in the world countries. Vietnam has been facing the never-seen decrease of economic development. How to overcome this situation in order to develop sustainably?
On March 20, 2009, on the occasion of research trip on the copyright of Vietnamese music, Prof. Nakamura Kiyoshi (Waseda University, Japan) gave a talk on Japanese economy at CVSEAS. The exchanging talk brought a lot of useful information to the students of Faculty of Oriental Studies (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hồ Chí Minh city) through the previous experiences of Japan for overcoming the difficulties and obtaining the advantages of competition to survive the world economic crisis.
On the morning of March 13th, 2009 Priof. Takei Atsuo (Tokyo University of Information Sciences, Japan) gave a talk to the learners of the IT Japanese on research project for the sustainable development of economic and social structure dependent on the environment of the eastern coast of Asia at CVSEAS.
