Speaker Jay Hartwell - Faculty adviser to student media programs at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa, USA
With over 20 years of expertise and experience in working as a media adviser for magazines in Hawai’i, Mr. Jay Hartwell shared the approach of writing articles and editing them to suit the current trend in using smart phones nowadays. It is unnecessary to broadcast news during prime time, make front-page news or post the article at the top of the website like in the past, but businesses should pay attention to having more stunning and sharp photos, detailed honest headlines yet attractive, and high-quality videos which can replace pictures and headlines about the company. They should also imitate the leading businesses in this field such as Vnexpress International, Washington Post, NY Times, Wall Street Journal, and Bloomberg.
Additionally, he advised that in order to build up customers’ trust in their social networking sites, enterprises need to place emphasis on the content and authenticity of articles, from which the company’s prestige will be acquired. They should convey one message through different approaches and perspectives so that customers can recognize them easily.
Dr. Tran Dinh Lam highly appreciates Mr. Jay’s willingness and support provided for Vietnamese businesses to help them gain necessary information in the digital era, meeting the State’s requirements and calling for building startups.
