VIETNAM PROPOSED TO ENSURE WATER SECURITY IN LEADERSHIP MEETINGS AIPA

Vietnam has proposed additional strengthening cooperation in the Association of Southeast  Asian Nations (ASEAN) to ensure water security for the benefit of citizens and sustainable development in the region on the message AIPA and was unanimously adopted countries.

According to Vietnam News Agency correspondent reported from the Philippines, leadership meetings Inter-Parliamentary Council of Southeast Asian nations (MENTION) right 28/4 took place in Manila (Philippines).

Also at this meeting, Union on behalf of Vietnam, National Assembly Vice Chairman Phung Quoc Hien emphasized in the context of ASEAN is continuing to promote and urgently build dynamic ASEAN Community, prosperous, peace, stability and integration, represent the voice of the people, AIPA parliamentarians should play a more active role in this process.

Vice President of the National Assembly confirmed with AIPA, Vietnam National Assembly continued commitment and priority devoted adequate resources to implement the development goals of the Community, while requesting countries implementing enhanced culture, attaches great importance to harmonious combination of national interests and the common interests of ASEAN.

Under the chairmanship of the President of AIPA and is chairman of the House Philippines Pantaleon D. Alvarez, congressional leaders AIPA member countries discussed Encyclical AIPA, which highlights the important issues of the ASEAN Community in the new situation, emphasizes the role of AIPA in the process of building the ASEAN Community Vision 2015, towards an active Community, prosperous, rules-based and people-centered.

The message was the AIPA member parliaments through the day and evening is expected to be presented to President AIPA official meeting between ASEAN-AIPA leadership on June 29/4, within the framework of the ASEAN Summit th 30 with the theme "Partnership for change, integration with the world ".

Sidelines of the meeting, National Assembly Vice Chairman Phung Quoc Hien also had bilateral meetings with the parliamentary delegation from Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand. On behalf of the National Assembly of Vietnam, Vice President has invited leaders of the countries participating Parliamentary Symposium in Asia-Pacific by the Vietnam National Assembly in collaboration with the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) held in Ho Chi Minh City from 11-13/5/2017 with topicsResponding to Climate Change: Actions of lawmakers to implement a sustainable development objective ".
