The period of 2016 - 2020

1. Organization structure and human resource:

To fullfil the functions and missions, The Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies (CVSEAS) has planned to structure our organization as follows:

Organization Board:

- Treasurer

Scientific Reseach Unit

- Section for Research on Southeast Asia in Mekong Delta

- Section for Research on Southeast Asia in island

- Section for Research on Southeast Asia in mainland

- Library for documents related to Vietnam and Southeast Asia

- Service and Research Project Assistance Unit

 

2. Establishment of the Scientific Consulting Council:

To improve the efficiency of scientific research activities, CVSEAS needs to establish the Scientific Conculting Council, thereby orienting ouselves towards the conducting of research activities, training, and scientific services and meeting the requirements for the integration into ASEAN.

 

3. Establishment of the library for documents related to Vietnam and Southeast Asia:

Currently, CVSEAS has collected and gathered books, magazines and research materials about Vietnam and Southeast Asian countries. With this foundation, one of our main aims in the next period is to establish the library for documents related to Vietnam and Southeast Asian region in pursuance of providing reference materials for research staff of CVSEAS, researchers, PhD and MA candidates studying about Vietnam and Southeast Asian countries.

4. Recruitment of collaborators:

We are trying to expand our activities with the help from collaborators domestically and internationally in order to develop training services (short-term and long-term) for diffusing knowledge about Vietnam and Southeast Asian countries, provide scientific services related to Vietnam and Southeast Asia, organize seminars, scientific conferences and conduct scientific researches.

5. Collaboration with research centers and institutions both at home and abroad:

The Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies is a basic research unit whose functions are to conduct scientific researches and diffuse scientific research achievements about Vietnam and Southeast Asian countries. To fullfil its functions, CVSEAS will collaborate with scientific researchers in different fields for the purpose of promoting scientific researches and facilitate the integration process of Vietnam into the Southeast Asian region in particular and the world in general.

6. Training Southeast Asian languages

In the period of 2016-2020, CVSEAS will open more language courses as well as culture ones with the focus on Southeast Asian languages: Thai, Indonesian, Malaysian, Laos, Cham, Cambodian.

In addition, CVSEAS will also organize Vietnamese, Cham and Cambodia languages for foreign researchers who conduct their research in Vietnam. These courses will help foreign researchers not only communicate well in Vietnamese, Cham and Cambodia but also be able to read research materials and references written in Vietnam, Cham and Cambodian.
