On 28 October 2022, the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, USSH HCMVNU and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hau Giang province hosted a seminar “Impacts of climate change on livelihood and agriculture land use in Hau Giang: New challenges and solutions”. The seminar was attended by Dr Tran Dinh Lam - Principal Investigator, Mr Dang Ngoc Giao - Deputy Director of DARV, Mr Le Thanh Tien - Deputy Director of the Central Bank - Hau Giang Branch, Assoc.Prof.Dr Le Anh Tuan - Faculty of Environment and Natural resources, Can Tho University, Pham Thanh Thoi M.A - Deputy Director of CVSEAS - Co-Principal Investigator, Nguyen Hong Truc, M.A - Co-Principal Investigator and representatives from other departments and offices of the province.

From August 25 to August 31, 2022, the Center for Vietnam and Southeast Asian Studies welcomed students and professors from the University of Innsbruck, Austria for the Summer Program 2022. This is the first program after two years of suspension due to the Covid pandemic. The students are from different faculties of the University of Innsbruck as well as other universities in Austria.

On 15 June 2022, Phong Hong, a 2022 FLAS fellow began his online Vietnamese program with the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies. Phong is pursuing his Master degree in Computational Epidemiology & System Modeling at the University of Michigan. His aim is to refine his Vietnamese reading and writing skills as well as exploring public health policy in Vietnam, which will greatly benefit Phong’s research in the coming years.

On 5 July 2022, Xinchao ScienceEdu, Linh Chieu Primary School coordinating with the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies organized seminar “Evaluation of Smart Science Lab Class Project”. The seminar had the attendance of Mr Nguyen Thai Vinh Nguyen, Head of Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City (DoET) , Mrs Le Thi Xinh, Deputy Head of DoET of Thu Duc City, Mrs Grace Soyun Jung, project lead - CEO of Xinchao ScienceEdu, Mrs Ta Thi Tuyet Mai, Headmaster of Linh Chiểu Primary School, Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Mai - Dean of Faculty of Korean Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU HCM, Duong Thi My Hien M.A - Lecturer of Faculty of Korean Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities - HCMVNU, headmasters  of other primary schools and teachers at Linh Chieu school. The Smart Science Lab Class project lasts from late March to middle of June, aiming to bring equal educational opportunities with technological advances such as tablets, VR headsets, LMS.

The ceremony had the participation of Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, Director of Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies (CVSEAS); Mrs Grace Soyun Jung - CEO of Xinchao ScienceEdu (project coordinator); Mr Nguyen Minh Thien Hoang, Deputy Head of Office of Primary Education, DoET HCMC; Mr Nguyen Thai Vinh Nguyen, Head of DoET of Thu Duc City; Excellency Shim Jae Yoon - Consulate General of the Republic of Korea; Mrs Ta Thi Tuyet Mai, Principal of Linh Chieu Primary school and representatives of parents council.

On July 2nd, 2022, the seminar: “Barrier free research from Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam” was held online, hosted by Dr. Toshiyuki Uwano. This is the final part of the project "Cross-cultural communication for the inclusive society by the leaders of Person with Disability in Asia" by Dr. Toshiyuki Uwano, sponsored by the Toyota foundation. Attending the seminar were researchers, lecturers, and  social workers from universities, social security and welfare centers, and social work centers of many Asian countries. Dr. Tran Dinh Lam - Director of CVSEAS, also attended the event.

On the morning of May 23, the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU-HCM) and Indira Gandhi National Center for the Arts (IGNCA) was held at Dinh Tien Hoang Campus with many  significant agreements and cooperation. This collaborative partnership was proposed and executed by the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies.
