
On February 26, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam - Director of the International Cooperation Program at the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, had a meeting with Ambassador Kunio Takahashi and Ms. Suzuka Jonai from The Japan Research Institute, Limited. The discussion focused on Vietnam’s economy and the relationship between Vietnam and Japan. Additionally, positive evaluations of Vietnam’s reform process were shared.

From 16 to 20 February 2025, the Center for Vietnam and Southeast Asian Studies conducted a field trip to Hue City. The research team included Dr. Tran Dinh Lam - Director of the International Cooperation and Training program; Ms. Symonekeo Sensathith Thomas - Doctoral student at Johns Hopkins University, US; and Mr. Nguyen Binh (MA) - lecturer from Hue University. Working with the delegation were the People's Committee of Quang Dien District and the People's Committees of Quang Loi and Quang Cong communes.

On December 19, at the invitation of the Baize Institute for Strategic Studies of the Southwest University of Political Science and Law in Chongqing City, China, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Hong Xuan - Director of the Center for Vietnam and Southeast Asian Studies and Chairwoman of the Vietnam - Southeast Asia Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City, along with Ms. Vo Phan My Tra and a student from the Faculty of Urban Studies, attended a symposium to discuss and explore opportunities for cooperation with universities and research institutes in China.

On 28.11.2024, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Hong Xuan, Director of the Center for Vietnam and Southeast Asian Studies and Chairwoman of the Vietnam–ASEAN Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City, along with officials and researchers from the Center, the Executive Committee of the Association, and partners, visited and congratulated the Consul General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Ho Chi Minh City.

With extensive development and integration in the region, ASEAN countries are opening up many employment, study, and cultural exchange opportunities for Vietnamese students. This information is the main focus of the international seminar "ASEAN Employment Outlook: Opportunities and Challenges," organized by the Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Orientation and the Center for Vietnam and Southeast Asian Studies of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities on 26.11.2024.

On 22.11.2024, the Consulate General of Indonesia in Ho Chi Minh City organized the Indonesia - Vietnam Festival Week 2024. The program was attended by the Consuls General in Ho Chi Minh City, as well as consular staff and partners. Representatives from the Center for Vietnam and Southeast Asian Studies attended the program, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Hong Xuan- Director, and Mr. Phan Hieu Nghia.

From October 28 to October 30, 2024, the Center for Vietnam and Southeast Asian Studies conducted a field trip to Ca Mau province. The research team included Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, Director of the International Training Program; Dr. Bui Thi Minh Ha; and Ms. Symonekeo Sensathith Thomas, a doctoral student at Johns Hopkins University, USA. The delegation collaborated with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Department of Construction, the Department of Science and Technology, and the GCF project management board of Ca Mau province.
On the morning of July 25, 2024, the Scientific Seminar "Promoting multicultural values and the potential to build a cultural and civilized urban lifestyle" took place at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNUHCM.

On the morning of June 7, 2024, Center for Rural Development - Saemaul Undong coordinated with U&I Agriculture Joint Stock Company (Unifarm) to organize a program to visit and evaluate a pilot model of high-tech agricultural tourism with circular solutions in Phu Giao district, Binh Duong province.

On May 11, 2024, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, Director of the International Cooperation Program at the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, had the opportunity to visit the Ohito organic farm in Izunokuni City, Japan. Joining him on the trip was Professor Hitokoto Noriyuki from Tokyo Joho University.
