
On May 9, 2024, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam had a discussion with Professor Kamoshita Akihiko at the Asian Resource and Environmental Sciences Research Center, part of the Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences at the University of Tokyo. Professor Ikemoto Yukio from the Institute for Advanced Studies on Asia, University of Tokyo, also attended the seminar.

On May 8 2024, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam visited and exchanged ideas with Mr. Tatsuya Uchida, director of IKASU – Caretaker of the Earth, along with Professor Tomy Ogata from Chuo University. The company follows a sustainable, environmentally-friendly model specializing in the production of organic vegetables and fruits using a circular, organic cycle. The model is certified by Japan Agricultural Standards (JAS).
On May 6 and 7, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, Director of the International Cooperation Program, held discussions on sustainable development through the circular economy and ecological agriculture with Mr. Sawamura, Director of Higo Ayumi Company, and Ms. Himeno Yuko, President of the Natural Agriculture Association of Japan, in Kumamoto City.

On the morning of May 31, representatives of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (USSH, VNU-HCM) held a meeting to welcome the delegation from the Traditional Medicine Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City. The purpose of the visit was to study the model of centers directly under the university.

On the morning of May 23, 2024, the Center for Vietnam and Southeast Asian Studies held a meeting to discuss potential cooperation with Panel Plus Vietnam Co., Ltd. at University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Ho Chi Minh City.

On the occasion of the traditional New Year celebrations of the Kingdom of Cambodia (Chol Chhnam Thmay), the Lao PDR (Bunpimay), and the Kingdom of Thailand (Songkran), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Hong Xuan, Director of the Center for Vietnam and Southeast Asian Studies, and President of the Vietnam - Southeast Asia Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City, along with a delegation of officials, lecturers, and researchers from the Center, the Association's Executive Committee, and strategic partners interested in the markets of Indochina countries, visited and extended congratulations to the Consuls General of the Lao PDR, the Kingdom of Cambodia, and the Kingdom of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City.

The Center for Vietnam and Southeast Asian Studies attended a meeting on the afternoon of June 5, 2024, to discuss the potential and prospects of cooperation with the Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia and representatives of President University. The meeting took place at the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Ho Chi Minh City.


After conducting research on the impact of climate change on farmers' livelihoods and agricultural land use in Hau Giang province, with the goal of facilitating connections between pineapple growing cooperatives and buyers, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, Director of the International Cooperation Program – Center for Vietnam and Southeast Asia Studies, and Mr. Daisuke Kurokawa, Export Department, visited Hoa Tien commune and Tan Tien commune in Vi Thanh district on March 13, 2024.

On the evening of March 22, 2024, at the Southern Building of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Vietnam - Southeast Asia Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City coordinated with the Institute for Research Development and Conservation of Southeast Asian Art and Culture to organize the Vietnam - ASEAN+ friendship meeting and exchange event in Xuan Giap Thin 2024.
