SEMINAR ON SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN THE MEKONG DELTA TO 2030, WITH A VISION TO 2045On December 10th, 2021, the Central Economic Commission in collaboration with the Can Tho City Party Committee and Ho Chi Minh City National University held a seminar on "Social and economic development in the Mekong Delta to 2030, with a vision to 2045". The seminar had the participation of Mr. Tran Tuan Anh - Politburo member and Head of the Party Central Committee's Economic Commission as the chairman, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Hai Quan - President of VNUHCM, secretaries of the provincial party committee, and central and local ministries. The seminar also welcomed the participation of institutes, universities, experts, scientists, and leaders of 13 provinces in the Mekong Delta region. Dr. Tran Dinh Lam - Director of CVSEAS, also attended the event.
WEBINAR: CITIZENS' OPINIONS OF AND EXPERIENCES WITH GOVERNMENT RESPONSES TO COVID-19 PANDEMIC IN VIET NAM: FINDINGS FROM ROUND 2 PHONE-BASED SURVEY, 2021On December 7th, 2021, the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and the Mekong Development Research Institute (MDRI), with the support from the Australian Government’s Department for Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), organized a webinar “ Citizens' Opinions of and Experiences with Government Responses to COVID-19 Pandemic in Viet Nam: Findings from Round 2 Phone-Based Survey, 2021”. The webinar had the participation of researchers, experts, and policymakers. Dr. Tran Dinh Lam also attended the event.
STARTUP FORUM ASSOCIATED WITH ONE COMMUNE ONE PRODUCT (OCOP) PROGRAM FOR YOUTHS AND STUDENTSFrom December 1st to 3rd, 2021, Center for Rural Development - Saemaul Undong, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM in collaboration with Central New Rural Coordination Office organized a training program: “Startup forum associated with One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program for youths and students”. The program was held online via Zoom and was broadcast live through Saemaul Undong Center’s Fanpage and Youtube channel.
INAUGURAL MEETING OF ERIMER - AIIT, JAPANOn October 26th, 2021, the Advanced Institute of Industrial Technology (AIIT) organized an online inaugural meeting of research fellows. The meeting had the participation of Prof. Yamada - Director of Epistemic Research Institute of Mekong Region (ERIMeR), Prof. Maeda - Director of Epistemic Research Institute of Social Ethics (ERISE), Prof. Tran Van Tho - Waseda University, and research fellows from Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam. Dr. Tran Dinh Lam - Director of CVSEAS also attended the meeting.
SCIENTIFIC SEMINAR: "SOLUTIONS FOR CONSERVATION AND PROMOTION OF ARIYA VALUES OF CHAM PEOPLE IN BINH THUAN PROVINCE"
On November 18th, 2021, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thanh Phan hosted an online scientific seminar: “Solutions for conservation and promotion of Ariya values of Cham people in Binh Thuan province”. The seminar had the participation of more than 50 delegates from Binh Thuan province. Dr. Tran Dinh Lam - Director of CVSEAS also attended the seminar.
CEREMONY ON VIETNAMESE TEACHERS’ DAY AND A TALK OF PROF. DR. LUONG VAN HYOn November 20th, 2021, University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized the Ceremony on Vietnamese Teachers’ Day. The Ceremony was live via the Youtube channel “Người Nhân Văn” with nearly 1000 staff, lectures, and students watching the event.
WORKSHOP: THAMMASAT & EFMD SEMINARS ON PARTNERSHIPS FOR SDGS
On November 22, 2021, the Webinar "Thammasat & EFMD Seminars on Partnerships for SDGs" was held online, co-hosted by Thammasat University (Thailand) and the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). The seminar had the attendance of leaders from more than 50 institutes around ASEAN. Representatives of Center for Vietnam and Southeast Asian Studies also participated in the workshop.
WEBINAR ON AGRICULTURAL ECONOMIC - VIETNAMESE INTELLECTUALS FORUM IN JAPAN 2021On November 21, 2021, the webinar "Agricultural economy: The development of agricultural economy in Mekong Delta" was organized online. The event is one of the in-depth discussions in a series of seminars at the Vietnamese Intellectuals Forum in Japan this year. At the virtual seminar, speakers and experts expressed their views on the agricultural picture in Vietnam as well as in the Mekong Delta. Future plans for the development of the agricultural economy were also discussed, aiming to improve the position of Vietnam agriculture in the world map.
INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE: LAW AND ECONOMICS ON ILLICIT TRADESOn October 30th, 2021, International Conference: Law and Economics on Illicit Trades was organized online by the Institute for Advanced Social Sciences, Waseda University, Japan. The conference had the participation of scholars and researchers from Japan, China, Malaysia, the US, Italy, and Vietnam. Dr. Tran Dinh Lam - Director of CVSEAS attended the meeting as a chairman of the panel discussion.
TAIWAN EDUCATION FAIR IN VIETNAM 2021On October, 30th 2021, Taiwan Education Fair in Vietnam was organized as a virtual event by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office. The annual event aimed to provide information and benefits on studying in Taiwan to Vietnamese students. This event was also the opportunity to promote the cooperation between Vietnam - Taiwan in affiliate training, exchange program, and transfer program.
