INAUGURAL MEETING OF ERIMER - AIIT, JAPAN
, 02/12/2021 10:12On October 26th, 2021, the Advanced Institute of Industrial Technology (AIIT) organized an online inaugural meeting of research fellows. The meeting had the participation of Prof. Yamada - Director of Epistemic Research Institute of Mekong Region (ERIMeR), Prof. Maeda - Director of Epistemic Research Institute of Social Ethics (ERISE), Prof. Tran Van Tho - Waseda University, and research fellows from Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam. Dr. Tran Dinh Lam - Director of CVSEAS also attended the meeting.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Prof. Yamada expressed his gratitude to all the researchers participating in the meeting in the context of the pandemic. In the meeting, he introduced the new research fellows of ERIMeR. He hoped that, with their research and cooperation, the Mekong region would gain significant achievements, contributing to the development of countries in the Mekong regions. He appreciated the participation and cooperation of all researchers.
Also in the meeting, Prof. Maeda introduced the visions and values of ERISE as well as AIIT. He emphasized that research from ERISE always focused on the nature, origin, and scope of knowledge. Besides, he briefly presented the historical trace of the network and its architecture. Following Prof. Maeda’s speech, Mr. Iwasaki - Secretary General of ERIMeR announced the activities of ERIMeR in the upcoming time. He stated that ERIMeR would become the knowledge hub of the research on the Mekong Region. He also expected to organize workshops and seminars to discuss current research topics of the Mekong region.
Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam showed his gratitude to Prof. Yamada and Prof. Maeda for this research opportunity. Dr. Lam also introduced the orientation and the approved research work of CVSEAS. He hoped that with ERIMeR, CVSEAS would expand their network and have more cooperation in the future.
Mr. Keola - Chief Researcher of ERIMeR presented his research on The Mekong Greater Subregion 2030 at the end of the meeting. In his presentation, he mentioned the features of the Mekong region and recommended the growth strategies. He hoped his research would help the research fellows have a general perspective on the current issues of the region and consequently find the solution ensuring the region's development.
