CONGRATULATING THE 49TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE NATIONAL DAY OF THE LAO PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC (2.12.1975 - 2.12.2024)

Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Hong Xuan, Director of the Center for Vietnam and Southeast Asian Studies and Chairwoman of the Vietnam–ASEAN Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City, along with officials and researchers from the Center, the Executive Committee of the Association, and partners, visited and congratulated the Consul General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Ho Chi Minh City.
At the Consulate General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Ho Chi Minh City, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Hong Xuan extended her best wishes to Consul General Phonesy Bounmixay and the diplomatic staff, congratulating them on the significant achievements Laos has made over the past 49 years under the leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party. She emphasized that the friendly cooperative relationship between Ho Chi Minh City and the localities of Laos, as well as between the two countries, has always been strong and has deepened based on the friendship built by generations of leaders.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Hong Xuan expressed a desire to strengthen coordination activities. She also expressed her belief that Laos and its people will continue to achieve even greater accomplishments in all areas, constantly enhancing Laos's position in the region and on the international stage. In particular, in 2024, Laos holds the rotating chairmanship of ASEAN.
Consul General Phonesy Bounmixay stated, "We are honored and happy to welcome, work, and cooperate with the Center for Vietnam and Southeast Asian Studies and the Vietnam–ASEAN Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City. This collaboration is not just about cultural and linguistic exchanges but also about creating new experiences and learning environments for the students at the Center.”
Consul General Phonesy Bounmixay sincerely thanked Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Hong Xuan for her goodwill and appreciated the close and effective coordination between the Consulate General and the Center in cultural, educational, and foreign affairs cooperation. He believes that the relationship between the two sides will continue to improve, with successive generations inheriting and further developing this traditional friendship.

Over the years, the Center and the Consulate General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic have significantly contributed to cultural cooperation activities, language education, and the organization of the Lao language curriculum. These efforts not only enhance the understanding of the culture and history of both countries but also open up learning and development opportunities for students.
Cooperation programs between the Center for Vietnam and Southeast Asian Studies and the Consulate General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic have been effectively implemented. With the close support of Consul General Phonesy Bounmixay, students have had and will continue to have more opportunities to participate in practical activities, thereby improving their skills and knowledge.
