, 03/07/2018 09:07

On June 26th, 2018, a representative of Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) at Ho Chi Minh City branch has come to University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) to prepare for the launching of Work Package 5 (WP5) in V2WORK project funded by European Union (EU).

Mrs. Bui Thi Ninh, Head of Breau of Employer Activities at Vietnam Chamber of  Commerce and Industry.

On behalf of VCCI, Mrs. Bui Thi Ninh, Head of Bureau of Employer Activities, visited USSH and was greeted by Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, director of Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, Dr. Nguyen Duy Mong Ha, Head of Educational Testing and Quality Assessment Office, and Ho Cam Nhung, staff at Career Orientation and Human Resources Development.

Mrs. Bui Thi Ninh made several suggestions to guarantee successful conduct of Work Package 5 including the uniform of centers for career orientation at schools. Moreover, centers for career orientation of all schools and businesses should share a unified data base of schools’ majors, students and recruiting jobs so that career, job opportunities and other related information are updated the fastest. Hence, the education institutions can quickly respond to that.

Additionally, Mrs. Ninh shared VCCI’s experience in supporting Community College and Vocational School students, as well as the process of cooperating with businesses to develop a curriculum suitable for businesses’ requirements.

USSH also took a chance to share their own experience regarding internships, job opportunities, exchanging programs and different scholarships for university students so as to provide them with necessary skills before entering the labor market.

From July 1st to 6th, representative of USSH will join 13 other member units for training at Nha Trang University in order to learn from each other’s experience in how to become an efficient intermediary between students and businesses. Through that, educational institutions are hoping to successfully build a relationship between businesses and institutions within the next three years until April, 2021, to attain V2WORK project’s goal.
