SHARING FROM CONSULATE GENERAL OF JAPAN: NO HARD WORK, NO RICE TO EAT
, 25/04/2011 14:04At 15 o’clock on 23/2/2010 at Minh Tam Garden, a seminar "The Dream of Vietnam" was chaired by Dr. Nguyen Tri Dung. The seminar took place with the participation of more than 30 lecturers from the Institute of Social Sciences, the Center of Trade Promotion, Science and Technology Department, professors from universities, research institutes, representatives from high-tech zone, the Center for Standards and Quality 3 and Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies.
In his speech, Mr. Ikuo Mizuki, Consul General of Japan talked about the way the Japanese educate their students. The Japanese teach their students hardworking, studiousness and trying to study. In the speech, he said "no hard work, no rice to eat”. It is those things that have helped create a developed country like Japan today. From that topic, the comparison between education in Japan and Vietnam also been discussed.
Mr. Thai Hoa, a young intellectual with many years’ experience in working for foreign companies, also offered many enthusiastic ideas to Vietnamese youth. In his opinion, Vietnamese youth should stick to the original roots of their culture. Then they can absorb the good values of the West on the basis of inheriting and promoting the cultures of Vietnam.
During the seminar, Dr. Nguyen Tri Dung wanted the government to create good conditions to attract overseas Vietnamese to the country to develop science and technology of the country, contributing to the development of human resources and leading minds for intellectual development in Vietnam, helping Vietnam become a prestigious brand name to take the products to the world, has gradually developed and overcome the global economic crisis.
Consulate General of Japan introduced Mr Kikuchi in charge of the economic session of Consulate General of Japan. He will help businesses in Japan and Vietnam understand each other and thereby provide more investment opportunities from the businesses to Vietnam.
Summarizing the seminar, Consul General of Japan talked about the advantages of Vietnam. He also wanted the governmnet to create enabling environment to attract talents back as well as more transient mechanism to help Vietnamese enterprises cooperate with foreign companies better.
