CAREER DAY PROVIDES STUDENTS WITH INSIGHTS BEFORE GRADUATION

, 30/12/2020 12:12
On Dec 26, Center for Vietnam and Southeast Asian Studies (CVSEAS), Faculty of International Relations and VNUHCM USSH collaborated with Ho Chi Minh City departments in holding Career Day 2 as an opportunity for students to meet local businesses and governmental departments; thus providing students with insights before they enter the workforce.

The “Career Day 2” event welcomed the presence of Tran Phuoc Anh, Acting Director of Ho Chi Minh City Foreign Affairs Office, Dr Le Hoang Dung, Vice President of USSH, USSH lecturers and representatives from TopCV, Vinacacao, Shojiki and media agencies.

Dr Tran Dinh Lam, Director of CVSEAS, VNUHCM USSH shares at the event.

“Career Day” is an annual event at USSH. Speakers at this event would share their experience about several topics such as career orientation, working skills and businesses requirements. Students can interact and join the Q&A section with speakers. In addition, they will have a chance to visit company exhibition stalls and use their products.

At “Career Day 2020”, participants had chances to experience products of companies (Vinacacao’s booth was displayed at the first floor). Furthermore, recruiters also helped students review their CVs. The organizers had received students CVs beforehand and then sent the first 30 ones to TopCV for evaluation. After one week, students will be informed of their results via email. In the evaluation process, TopCV will choose 10-15 excellent students among 30 CVs to join simulation interviews with the speakers.
Guests and USSH lecturers take a group photo.

On top of that, students will stand a better chance to get internships and connect with potential employers to prepare for their mandatory internship. The event is considered a bridge to connect USSH with companies based in Ho Chi Minh City.
