USSH’s Job Fair 2019 is one of the University’s most noteworthy activities. The University School Board acted as a bridge between employers and students by creating an environment of favorable conditions for accessing recruitment information serving to give students job opportunities even before graduating.

USSH’s Job Fair 2019 is also a great platform for students to gain insight into the labour market via networking and deep understanding of the employers’ needs. From it, the students will find themselves with a strong career orientation in the foreseeable future. Furthermore, students were allowed the chance of having one-on-one conversations with employers in the form of free mock interviews and try-outs.

Speaking on students’ issues relating to working relationships with employers, the University’s Vice President, Mr. Phan Thanh Dinh said:

“It is such a waste for universities to train all these human resources only to have the employers not use them. To effectively shorten the gap between theoretical training and practical working experience, both employers and universities need to forge and maintain close cooperation. By doing so, employers will be able to voice their feedbacks directly to universities resulting in training curriculums more suitable to the labour market. At this very moment, among you are many leading enterprises such as Vinacacao, Seabornes, Vietnam Airlines, etc. This is a wonderful opportunity to search for an employer who is right for you [...]"

Mr. Phan Thanh Dinh opined: “Among the top universities with high rate of graduates’ employment, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNUHCM) is in the upper percentile. With that being said, I do believe such feat should be the norm for most universities, not just limited to VNUHCM.”

As a former Russian Linguistics and Literature student of VNUHCM-USSH, Mr. Phan Quoc Tuan expressed interest in collaborating with the University. He is willing to take in, train, and demonstrate his company’s business model to the students.

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Phan Quoc Tuan said: “On behalf of the enterprises [present at the event], we hope you’ll take interest and be able to find a suitable career path after graduation.”
