5TH V2WORK TRAINING OF TRAINERS TOOLS FOR ENGAGEMENT THROUGH CAREER CENTRES

From April 2nd to 5th, the 5th Training of Trainers (ToT) for management boards and staff members of Career Centres (CaCes) of the V2WORK project “Strengthening the Vietnamese Higher Education System to Improve Graduates’ Employability and Entrepreneurship Skills” was organized at Tra Vinh University.

 

For University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (HCMUSSH), participants included Dr. Tran Dinh Lam – Director of Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Le Hoa Tranh – Deputy Director of CaCe, and Ms. Ho Cam Nhung – expert at CaCe.

The training topic was “Tools for Engagement through Career Centres” with presentations delivered by professors from University of Alicante, Coimbra and FH Joanneum.

Specifically, it focused on methods of using some helpful tools such as market analysis; effective ways of using strategy analysis; career advises for better career chances of graduates … Besides, some effective models were also introduced as references for CaCes like career day, career orientation week, new services of CaCes including online services, website upgrade, methods of creating online courses,… These are crucial and necessary tools for an efficient operation of CaCes.

The training addressed practical and necessary topics for universities’ CaCes given the context of changes in current labour market, Industry 4.0, future labour market trend... Participants would acquire knowledge and experience from European universities to renovate and improve operation of their CaCes at their respective institutions.

In addition with training days, the 3rd Coordination Meeting was organized on the last day summarizing all activities carried out up until now as well as planning for upcoming events such as Career Day, Enterprise Ideals Competition (EIC)… The meeting also welcomed participation of representatives from Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), VCCI, and sponsor companies for the EIC like Vinacacao.

Speaking at the training, Mr. Bui Van Linh – Deputy Director General of Department of Politics and Student’s Affairs, held high regards of V2WORK project and dedication of all partner country members in improving graduate’s employability.
