SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAM 2015 OF STUDENTS FROM UNIVERSITY OF INNSBRUCK, AUSTRIA
, 29/01/2016 14:01The delegation of the University of Innsbruck, Austria came to Ho Chi Minh City to attend Summer School Program 2015 was hosted by the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asia Studies (CVSEAS), USSH, VNU – HCMC, jointly organized by University of Innsbruck from September 14th to 18th, 2015.
It was a great honor that Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Van Sen, President of USSH, VNU – HCMC attended and delivered an opening speech to welcome the delegation consisting of Prof. Christian Traweger, leader of the group and his 11 students from University of Innsbruck.
This is the fourteenth summer school program in which the University of Innsbruck has taken students to Vietnam under collaboration between CVSEAS and University of Innsbruck for the purpose of helping students get chances to pay a visit to manufacturing companies and famous places in Vietnam.
In his speech, the Rector shared an expectation that “the students will have opportunities to get an understanding of Vietnamese history, geography, religion, culture, culinary culture and economy”. He also wished that the USSH would be “the optimal place for University of Innsbruck to carry out this program.”
After the opening ceremony, students started studying “Vietnamese War (1955 – 1975)” with the presentation of Prof. Vo Van Sen.
In addition, there were five lectures from other teachers in the next consecutive days:
- Vietnamese Geography presented by Dr. Pham Gia Tran
- Vietnamese Economy presented by Dr. Ho Ngoc Phuong
- Vietnamese Religions presented by Dr. Duong Ngoc Dung
- Vietnamese Culture presented by Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Tho
- Vietnamese Culinary Culture presented by Mr. Luong Thien Phuc, MA.
This program emphasizes the importance of collaboration and exchanges among universities. It also contributes to development of human resources as well as increasing potentials for social – cultural - economic development between Vietnam and Austria.
