A presentation on climate change and biodiversity presented by Dr. Truong Thi Thu Hang
Biodiversity play an important role for the lives of species on earth. Diversity of ecosystem brings direct economic value to human life. In the past, biodiversity gradually lost in some regions as well as specific floral and faunal species. This phenomenon comes from some different causes including climate change.
In Vietnam, the Mekong Delta is an evidence for the impacts of climate change on biodiversity, which reflected through severe phenomena such as flood, changes of ground water and flow, degradation and soil erosion... appearing in this area. These affect the lives of plants, animals and human being because they are not yet able to adapt to climate change.

Participants posed questions to speakers
The gradual loss of biodiversity and impacts of climate change on biodiversity of Mekong Delta requires strengthening research and training on climate change and biodiversity at academic institutions.

Biodiversity is a practical topic in the context of climate change in some regions of Vietnam, particularly Mekong Delta. Therefore, attendees had lively discussions about solutions to maintain biodiversity. At the end of the seminar, speakers and organizers hope that the knowledge and information shared in the seminar will be more widespread in community through the participants.
