
On 26-28 March, 2017, the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, HCM City University of Social Sciences and Humanities, attended the opening ceremony to launch a project on “strengthening climate change REsearch And innovation CapaciTies in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam – REACT” at the University of Alicante, Spain. During the meeting, the project’s members had discussions and reached agreements on the project-related issues.
On October 3-5, 2016, all partners of the ENHANCE Project attended the first round table, project coordination meeting and training workshop hosted by the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities. After 3 days of working together, the project members reviewed the relevant activities of the past 6 months and proposed an agenda for the next 6 months. Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, Director of the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, and Dr. Bui Anh Tien, Deputy Head of the Office of Scientific Research and Project Management, represented the HCM City University of Social Sciences and Humanities at this important conference.
From February 22 to 24, 2016, Prof.Dr. Vo Van Sen, President of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – Ho Chi Minh City and two representatives of the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies had attended the kick-off meeting of the ENHANCE Project in University of Alicante, Spain. During the meetings, many issues related to the dissemination and implementation of the project had been addressed and discussed in detail by project partners, including HCM-University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

The University of Hawaiii – Mānoa (UH- Mānoa) are soliciting applications for entry into our 2016 graduate program. We encourage students to begin applying now, as the application deadline for funding via the East-West Center is November 1st.
The delegation of the University of Innsbruck, Austria came to Ho Chi Minh City to attend Summer School Program 2015 was hosted by the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asia Studies (CVSEAS), USSH, VNU – HCMC, jointly organized by University of Innsbruck from September 14th to 18th, 2015.
From 24-27 February, 2015, the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, together with Prof. Seiko Ono and Prof. Bui Chi Trung from the Aichi Shukutoku (Japan), had a field trip to the K’hor ethnic community in Da Lat.

The collection of reports and presentations by professors and experts from Japan, Italia, the United States, India, etc… at the conference “Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) in Developing Countries” (held at the HCMC University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) on December 12, 2012) has just been put in a printed book by the Vietnam National University – HCMC Publishing House (edited by Prof. Koji Domon, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam and Prof. Simrit Kaur).
