HCM-USSH ATTENDED INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF THE TOURIST PROJECT IN HANOI
The International Scientific Conference “Sustainable Tourism Development: Experiences for Southeast Asia Countries ” taking place at VNU USSH on Dec 3rd and 4th 2019, is part of the TOURIST Project funded by the European Union through the Erasmus + Program. The delegation from Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities, including 03 members, actively engaged in the Conference.
As part of project TOURIST’s training course, on July 9th, Professor Chung Hoang Chuong - former lecturer at Department of Asian American Studies, City College of San Francisco- gives an insightful speech on the topic of “Sustainable Tourism in South Central Coast of Vietnam.”
ONLINE DISCUSSION BETWEEN HCMUSSH STUDENTS (VIETNAM) AND PSU STUDENTS (THAILAND)On June 10th, 2020, an online discussion among ten hand-picked students from Ho Chi Minh University of Social Sciences and Humanities (HCMUSSH) and Prince of Songkla University (PSU) was held via Google Meet. The discussion was chaired by Dr. Chatchawan – Representative of PSU and Dr. Tran Dinh Lam – Director of Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies as part of project TOURIST*.

On Feb 28th, members of Board of Acceptance and Handover checked the equipment for the “Competence Center for the Development of Sustainable Tourism and Innovative Financial Management Strategies to Increase the Positive Impact of Local Tourism in Thailand and Vietnam” project (TOURIST*) at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (USSH VNU).
TOURIST EXTENDED TRAINING WORKSHOP Morning of November 30th 2019, the extended training workshop “Experiences in managing tourist destinations from the cases of Japan and Vietnam” was held at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-USSH-HCM) as part of the TOURIST* project’s framework.
PROJECT TOURIST - WORKING WITH VIETNAM NATIONAL ADMINISTRATION OF TOURISM IN HANOIOn December 4th, 2019, within the framework of project TOURIST, the 1st International Conference on Sustainable Tourism was held in Hanoi. Representatives from FH Joanneum University (Austria), Ms. Claudia Linditsch, and Prof. Harald A. Friedl had a working visit with Dr. Ha Van Sieu - Deputy Director General of Tourism Administration. The meeting was attended by Mr. Tran Phu Cuong - Director General of International Cooperation, Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Director of the Institute for Tourism Development, and Dr. Tran Dinh Lam - Director of the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies.
ATTENDING TOURIST 3RD CONSORTIUM MEETING AND VISIT COMMNUINITY-BASED TOURISM MODELS IN CHIANGMAI, THAILANDWithin the framework of TOURIST project, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam has participated the 3rd Consortium Meeting at University of Payap, Chiangmai, Thailand from June 12 to June 14.
SHARING ON TOURIST PROJECT AT THE CONFERENCE IN CULTURE – TOURISM VILLAGE, CHO LACH DISTRICTOn June 4th, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam attended the conference "Potentials and solutions to develop culture – tourism village in Cho Lach district on the foundation of rural tourism development", taking place in Cho Lach district, Ben Tre province. On this occasion, the Doctor also introduced the TOURIST project to the participants.
