V2WORK – NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON GRADUATE EMPLOYMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP
, 26/11/2019 16:11On 29th, 30th, and 31st October 2019, the national conference of the V2WORK project with the highlight on “The forum for graduates’ employment and entrepreneurship” was organized in the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH).
The conference had the participation of Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ngo Thi Phuong Lan - President of USSH, Ms. Christina Beans - Office of International Project Management - University of Alicante (Spain), the scholars from University of Coimbra (Portugal), FH Joanneum (Austria), and the lectures and students from 8 project’s member universities including Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Thu Dau Mot University, Nha Trang University, University of Technology and Education - The University of Da Nang, Tay Nguyen University, Industrial University of Vinh, Tra Vinh University and Ho Chi Minh University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The conference was to enhance the collaboration between universities and enterprises, aiming at building a higher education system in accordance with the market’s demands in order to improve the graduates’ employment.

Speaking in the opening ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ngo Thi Phuong Lan highly appreciated the project’s efficiency in enhancing the competence of the affiliated Career Center, improving graduates’ employability. Representative of the Ministry of Education and Training - Mr. Bui Tien Dung acclaimed the nationwide network of the project member universities and wished them to review the experiences and lessons from the project and report to the affiliated ministries and agencies. In two working days, the representatives from member universities had the opportunities to share their experience in training and career orientation via 03 forums: “Current situation of graduates’ employment”, “ The transition from university to the labor market” and “ Entrepreneurship ecosystem in Vietnam”. Regarding the market’s demand and difficulties in entrepreneurship, representatives of enterprise and alumni of USSH shared experiences in their adventure of finding jobs and building a business. At the forum “My startup journey”, Ms. Selena Le - Co-founder of No Waste Vietnam urged young people to invest in improving their self-worth and to be proactive with their goals in the process of finding a job.

“Be Green - V2WORK Enterprising Ideas Competition'', an integrated activity in the conference, attracted the participation of 11 teams and the victory belonged to 03 groups of students from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Tra Vinh University, and Thu Dau Mot University. Speaking in the prize-giving ceremony, Mr. Tran Van Lieng, Chairman of Vinacacao committed to continuing to support the winning teams to implement their ideas and awarded the prize, a visit to the University of Alicante (Spain), for the best of three students of the competition.
