REPLICATION SEMINAR 3 – IMPROVING GRADUATES EMPLOYABILITY

In the morning of March 15th, the Replication Seminar 3 “Improving Graduates’ Employability” took place at University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (HCMUSSH). The seminar is part of the V2WORK Project.

 

The replication seminar welcomed the presence of Dr. Tran Dinh Lam – Director of Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Le Hoa Tranh – Deputy Director of Career Orientation and Human Resources Development (CaCe) and Ms. Ho Cam Nhung – Expert from the CaCe.

Participants included Mr. Tran Van Lieng – CEO of Vietnam Cacao Joint Stock Company, Ms. Le Hoang Uyen Vy – former CEO of adayroi.com, now CEO of ESP Capital, together with researchers, experts from school’s faculties and students.

Within the framework of V2WORK Project, the replication seminar is to provide necessary knowledge to empower students in initiating entrepreneurship ideas, changing the mindset of young generation on entrepreneurship and to provide a clear employment tendency of company in a globalized market. At the training, many experts claimed that entrepreneurship is now spreading to other social fields. At the same time, employer’s perspective is changing due to the influences of globalization. Given current progress, there will be more and more opportunities for students and graduates to find a job, develop themselves and especially, to start up their own business.

Speaking from her perspective, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Le Hoa Tranh argued the importance of entrepreneurship education and that not only students in the fields of economics, business management or technology but also students in fields of social study can run their own business. She also reiterated “Entrepreneurship education is not about graduates running their business but it’s about them believing in themselves to continue developing their potential”.

Mr. Tran Van Lieng – CEO of Vietnam Cacao Joint Stock Company introduced to participants the study model KASH (Attitude, Skill, Knowledge, Habit) in which he placed emphasis on the habit to be the driving factor for working efficiency.
