V2WORK FINAL CONFERENCE AND 1ST VEES-NET ANNUAL MEETING

From March 29th to 31st, 2021, representatives of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Ho Chi Minh National University attended the final conference and 1st VEES-Net annual meeting. The conference was organized by the V2WORK project executive committee at Nha Trang University.  The conference was to sum up the results and achievements of the V2WORK project as well as assent to the VEES-Net development direction.

The conference welcomed the attendance of representatives from 3 European universities and 8 member universities in Vietnam and also the participation of Assoc.Prof.Dr. Pham Quang Hung - Director of International Cooperation Department, Ministry of Education and Training, Dr. Hoang Cong Dung - Deputy Director of Center for Human Resource Training and Provision, Mr. Bui Tien Dung - Consultant of the Department of Political Education and Student Affairs and affiliated partners: Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, AIESEC and local enterprises. The USSH's delegates attending the conference included Dr. Le Hoang Dung - Vice President, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam - Director of CVSEAS, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Le Hoa Tranh - Director of Center for Human Resource Development and Ms. Ho Cam Nhung - Consultant of Center for Human Resource Development.

At the final conference, the project delegates reviewed the feature activities during the project implementation and presented the project achievements. Thereby, diverse activities such as workshops, courses, contests were organized by the member universities in Vietnam to create the playing fields, providing students with practical knowledge to increasingly improve their graduate’s employability and entrepreneurship skills.
 
The contributions and achievements of member universities in Vietnam received a lot of positive responses from the European Board of Management. Dr. Roberto - Director of Center for Scientific Research Management - University of Alicante (Spain) highly appreciated the efforts of Vietnamese partners in cooperating with Alicante in many projects in the past 20 years. The cooperation between European and Vietnamese universities brought good results in human resources development in Vietnam. He hoped that this practical knowledge and experience would foster the project executive committees’ ability in improving graduates’ employability. He also expressed his desire that the project would continue to connect and cooperate with Vietnamese universities in the coming time.
 
Mrs. Cristina - a V2WORK project coordinator stated that this was one of the most successful projects that the University of Alicante had ever implemented. The project brought beneficial effects to universities in Vietnam. She highly appreciated the comprehensive cooperation of 8 member universities, which was considered as the key success factor of the project.
 
Mr. Bui Tien Dung,  Consultant of the Department of Political Education and Student Affairs, Ministry of Education and Training stated that the V2WORK project met the demands of the Vietnam Government following Decision No. 1665/QĐ-TTg issued by the Prime Minister on 30/10/2017 on approval of the proposal “ Student entrepreneur start-up support to 2025”. The V2WORK project contributed to innovation in propaganda to raise awareness of learners and society on career choices in accordance with their competence and the market’s demands; to raise awareness of university management committees about their role and mission in supporting students; and to raise awareness of students on nurturing the entrepreneurship spirit. He expressed his gratitude for the advocacy from the EU as well as the devotion from European professors, which helped the project complete. He hoped to have more projects connecting European and Vietnamese universities in teaching and research in the near future.
