VISITING BACONCO AND STARPRINT COMPANIES

On the framework of his study in Vietnam, Dr. Masami Ishida, Institute of Developing Economies and the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies continued to visit Baconco Company at the Phu My Industrial Park in Tan Thanh, Ba Ria Vung Tau and Starprint Vietnam Co., Ltd. at the Amata Industrial Park in Long Binh, Bien Hoa, Dong Nai on October 20^th, 2014.

In the morning, apart from the visit to the Baconco Company’s factory, the group had a chance to meet Mr. Pierre Siquet (General Director) and Mr. Ho Ngoc Chau (Finalcial and Adminstrative Director), who willingly shared information about their company and parent company.

In the afternoon, the human resource manager of Starprint Co., Ltd. guided the group to visit the company’s plant and provided useful information about its business. Although Starprint Co. separated from its parent company in 2007, it still gave the research group detailed documents of its former parent company.

Such visits to companies set up important steps towards promoting relations between Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries.
