Dr. Tran Dinh Lam recently held a talk with a delegation of 2 teachers and 19 students from Duman high school, Singapore on November 21 at the University of Social Sciences & Humanities (USSH).
The talk welcomed the attendance of M.A. Bang Anh Tuan, Head of Office of International Cooperation and International Project Development, USSH.
Issues related to poverty eradication, FDI into remote areas, investment in building infrastructure in remote areas, and good policies for Vietnamese farmers in the age of globalization were discussed during the talk. The students raised questions about loss of governmental businesses in Vietnam and solutions to this issue.
The talk put the weight on the essence of pushing the process of business to eliminate the loss that the government must cover for the businesses.
Issues mentioned by the students clarify the long- lasting development of Singapore under the leadership of Lee Kuan Yew.
Singapore has paid more attention to training human resources. Scholarship programs given to Vietnamese students are not only offered by universities but also by high schools. Excellent pupils will be granted all expenses to travel to Singapore for interviews and selected candidates will go to high school, then university in Singapore and be likely to receive offers to work for Singaporean companies.
