ASIAN CULTURAL EXCHANGE THROUGH FOLKTALES 2016 - HO CHI MINH CITY

The International Storytelling Festival 2016 in Ho Chi Minh City was successfully organized (March 1, 2016) by Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies.
The International Storytelling Festival 2016 in Ho Chi Minh City under the organization of Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies was set in the theme: "ASEAN Cultural Exchange Through Folktales". The event was hold in Hall D, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU - Ho Chi Minh City.

The program was introducing some key contents: Introduction to Vietnamese culture and South Vietnam's Culture; ASEAN storytelling with the them of Peace and Hulled Rice; Skill Conference with the participation of ASEAN artisans (Vietnamese, Thai, Malaysian, Indonesian, Myanmar, Singaporean, and Philippine) and international artisans (Indian, British, Germany, American, Italian, Romanian, Korean, Taiwanese and Dennish)

The program had drawn great attention to students from many different faculties, departments and from other universities in Ho Chi Minh City. This program aims at encouraging the preservation and development of storytelling in Vietnam as well as fostering sustainable relations among ASEAN countries.

This program will be organized annually with the attempt to do research and make room for exchange and unity among ASEAN countries through popular culture and art.
