ATTENDING CONCERT ON 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS BETWEEN AUSTRIA AND VIETNAM
, 06/11/2012 13:11Dr. Tran Dinh Lam just took part in a classic concert on the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Austria and Vietnam. The concert took place at Saigon Opera House on October 28.
The concert witnessed the presence of the Austrian Ambassador in Vietnam - Dr. Georg Heindl, representatives from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of HCM City, Consuls General of Japan, India, and the Netherlands, etc. as well as several Austrian businesses in Vietnam.
In his discussion at the concert, the Austrian Ambassador emphasized the development of education, tourism, service and finance, which are the strengths of Austria. Many investors from Austria have come to HCM City to start their business and achieved some success during the past years. The Austrian government has also offered scholarships for Vietnamese students to study and do research in Austria. Moreover, Austria is a country of music with a lot of world-renowned composers. Classic music still plays an important role in Austrian culture today.

Present at the concert this time were the two well-known music groups: the Acies Quartet from Austria and the Song Hong Chamber Music from Vietnam.
The Acies Quartet performed String Quartet op. 74 No. 3 “The Rider” composed by Joseph Haydn and String Quartet in F sharp minor by Friedrich Gulda; the Song Hong Chamber Music played the Piano Quintet “The Rains” by Vu Nhat Tan. In addition, the two groups together performed Octet Op. 20 in Es-Major by Felix Mendelssohn.
This is one of the activities in the series of events that are held on the 40th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Austria and Vietnam. The relation is continuously flourishing in many fields and can reach promising developments in the future.
