ATTENDING NATIONAL FOUNDATION DAY OF SOUTH KOREA IN HCMC

On the evening of October 02, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam participated in the 4,346th ceremony of the National Foundation Day of South Korea (October 03, 2333 BC – October 03, 2014) held by the Consulate General of South Korea in HCMC.

The ceremony witnessed the presence of Nguyen Thi Hong, Deputy Chairwoman of the HCMC’s People Committee; Nguyen Hung Quoc, Chairman of the HCMC Union of Friendship Organizations and Korean enterprises in Vietnam. On the side of Vietnam National University – HCMC (VNU – HCMC), there was the participation of Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hoi Nghia, Deputy Director of VNU – HCMC; Division of International Cooperation of VNU – HCMC; the International University’s President; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vo Van Sen, President of the HCMC University of Social Sciences and Humanities along with representatives of the Department of Korean Studies and Center for Korean Studies, etc.

In his speech at the ceremony, Consul General of South Korea in HCMC Oh Jae-Hack reminded the foundation and development of his country, highlighting the friendship between South Korea and Vietnam.

South Korea is one of the countries providing the highest foreign direct investment in Vietnam. The strategic partnership between the two countries in economic, socio-cultural issues is regarded as a bridge for full development, especially in terms of human and education in Vietnam in the near future.

Responding Oh Jae-Hack’s speech, on behalf of the HCMC’s authorities and people, Nguyen Thi Hong extended her wishes to South Korea and Korean communities living in Vietnam on this occasion. Given achieved results, Hong believed that the cooperative relationship between HCMC and South Korea will more flourish and contribute to enhancing the two countries’ relations.
