In the morning of Sep 21, 2013, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam paid a visit to Assumption University and presented a book about“Intellectual Property Rights in Developing Countries” to the university library.
The book is a collection of reports and presentations on the issues related to Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs), which is published by the Vietnam National University – HCMC Publishing House. The book reflects the difference in the protection and enforcement of IPRs between the developed and developing countries, with the latter being normally associated with much lower standards for IPRs protection than the former.
Assumption University (A.U) was initially originated from Assumption Commercial College in 1969 as an autonomous higher education institution under the name of Assumption School of Business. In 1990, it was granted new status as "Assumption University" by the Ministry of University Affairs. This is one of the most prestigious universities in Thailand.
On his visit to the university, Dr. Lam donated the book on Intellectual Property Rights in the hope that this book will make a valuable contribution to the university’s library. Besides, the representatives of the this university also wish to offer support to human resource training for Vietnam and Vietnamese students who have the plan to study in Thailand in the future.
