Dr. Tran Dinh Lam (R) presented the book to the representative of Yeungnam University's library.
The book is a collection of reports and presentations by professors and experts from Japan, Italia, the United States, India, etc… at the conference “Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) in Developing Countries” (held at the HCMC University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) on December 12, 2012), published by the Vietnam National University – HCMC Publishing House (edited by Prof. Koji Domon, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam and Prof. Simrit Kaur). These writings reflect the difference in the protection and enforcement of IPRs between the developed and developing countries, with the latter being normally associated with much lower standards for IPRs protection than the former.
Besides academic reports by professors and experts in IPRs, the book also recorded relevant comments of audiences who had attended the conference. The book’s authors hope that it will help IPRs experts and policy makers, specifically in developing countries, to implement appropriate policies that benefit both the developed and developing countries.
Dr. Tran Dinh Lam hopes that this book will make a valuable contribution to the resource center of the Yeungnam University, providing scholars interested in IPRs issues with an additional reference. He is also finding opportunities to have research collaboration with professors and scholars at universities in Korea to promote the mutual relations between the two countries.
