FAREWELL PARTY WITH MR. H.E. ABHAY THAKUR, CONSUL GENERAL OF INDIA

Dr. Tran Dinh Lam participated in the farewell party with H.E. Abhay Thakur, Consul General of India on June 21, 2013 on the occasion of his term in HCMC coming to the end.

Dr. Tran Dinh Lam participated in the farewell party with H.E. Abhay Thakur, Consul General of India on June 21, 2013 on the occasion of his term in HCMC coming to the end.

Present at the party were consuls general of several countries, representatives of the HCMC Department of External Relations and businesses in HCMC. As for the HCMC University of Social Sciences and Humanities (HCMC USSH), Assoc.Prof.Dr. Võ Văn Sen – President of HCMC USSH, officials of the Department of Oriental Studies as well as the Office of International Cooperation and International Project Development also came to the party.

Over the years in his position, H.E. Abhay Thakur has had valuable contributions to the development of India – Vietnam friendship in many aspects. In terms of education and training, he played an important role in proposing the idea of compiling Vietnamese – Hindi and Hindi – Vietnamese dictionaries. Besides, he has sponsored to invite Indian professors to Vietnam as well as granted many scholarships to Vietnamese students for them to study in India.
