''FOR BELOVED TRUONG SA'' PHOTO EXHIBITION OPENS
, 15/03/2013 14:03The opening of “For Beloved Truong Sa” photo exhibition was held on the morning of March 14, 2013 at Hall D of the HCMC University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) with the coordination of Thanh Nien Newspaper and HCMC Department of Information and Communications.
The ceremony saw the participation of a representative of HCMC Department of Information and Communications Cao Thi Hong Ha, Editor-in-Chief of Thanh Nien Newspaper Nguyen Quang Thong, Chairman of HCMC Science, Technology and Maritime Economics Association Le Ke Lam, Vice President of USSH Dr. Nguyen Khac Canh, Vice President of USSH Phan Thanh Dinh, Director of Center for Ocean and Islands Studies Dr. Le Thi Kim Thoa together with lecturers and students of USSH.
In his speech at the opening, Dr. Nguyen Khac Canh said that the university paid a lot of attention to spreading information about the East Sea and two archipelagoes of Vietnam through activities of the Youth Union, such as raising more than 100 million VND for the “Stone contribution to build Truong Sa” program and establishing the Center for Ocean and Islands Studies at USSH with the purpose of promoting studies on the two archipelagoes. All of these activities aim at confirming and protecting the sovereignty of Vietnam.

Vice President of USSH Dr. Nguyen Khac Canh delivered his speech at the opening.
Editor-in-Chief of Thanh Nien Newspaper Nguyen Quang Thong expressed his honor to collaborate with HCM-USSH to open this exhibition at the university. According to him, this is a visual way of educating the youth about national pride and building up their will to protect Fatherland. He also hopes that there will be more opportunities to organize such exhibition at the university in the future.
Also at this opening ceremony, besides the photo exhibition with the theme of Truong Sa by journalists of Thanh Nien Newspaper and the proclamation of some ancient maps to confirm Vietnam’s sovereignty over Truong Sa and Hoang Sa archipelagoes, Organizing Committee launched “March – Month of border and islands” program in the whole university to raise fund for soldiers at Truong Sa.
