Discussing with Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, Paramjit S. Sahai said that India emphasizes peaceful philosophy and racial harmony based on humane elements. Dr. Tran Dinh Lam entirely agreed on this opinion. From the ancient times, Vietnam has always followed the principles of racial harmony. Dr. Lam took a small temple in Van The village, Thuy Thanh commune, Huong Thuy town, Thua Thien Hue province, where he visited in his earlier research, as an example for this point. This Che (a Vietnamese family name) temple was built by Vietnamese kings to show their appreciation for Champa people who had reclaimed their land. The kings also granted land for worship, not discriminating on the basis of their origins. This place not only serves as a preservation of national traditions and cultural values but it also shows the harmony and union of the whole people.
Given the big success of the conference, Dr. Deepak Mittal, Consul General of India, hopes to have more similar events to strengthen and foster the cordial relations between the two countries in many aspects.
