MEETING WITH DELEGATION FROM ANTALL JÓZSEF KNOWLEDGE CENTRE (AJKC), HUNGARY

On April 23rd, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam welcomed Mr. Péter Antall – Director of Antall József Knowledge Centre (Hungary), Mr. Zsolt Csepregi – International Relations Coordinator of the centre, Mr. Szécsi Dániel – Deputy Principal Officer of Hungary Embassy & Consulate at Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Tran Thi Song Ha – Adviser of the Embassy, and researchers of the centre.

 

Mr. Péter Antall introduced some of his centre activities such as research in the field of security policy, sustainable development, science and technology innovation and human resources development in both domestic and international region, especially in Europe, America, China, and Middle East. AJKC also published magazine, journal on biographies of some countries’ diplomats. Recently, it published the In Focus magazine focusing on model of smart house/city/country.

At the meeting, he expressed his hope for research collaboration between Vietnamese research institutions and his centre’s branch at Brussels – one of the three biggest facilities of AJKC, especially on Southeast Asian region in the future. Mr. Péter Antall believed that Vietnam is one of the countries that have an enormous potential for tourism. However, it needs to improve the quality of human resources working in this field. He also introduced the Antall József Summer School which is a great opportunity for Vietnamese students to study at the centre.

Answering Mr. Péter Antall, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam expressed his appreciation for Mr. Antall visit to the university as well as spoke highly of his centre’s research activities and the potential collaboration. On this occasion, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam introduced to representatives of the centre the REACT project and some information on the upcoming REACT International Conference in September with hope of their participation. In regards to this, Mr. Péter Antall appreciated the objectives of REACT and wanted to help train the Vietnam human resources, especially in the field of tourism through collaboration of two sides in similar projects.

Before the meeting, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam met with Mr. Baloghidi Tibor – Consul General of Embassy of Hungary in Ho Chi Minh City during anniversary of Netherlands’s King’s Day on April 25th, 2019 that took place at the Embassy. According to Mr. Baloghidi Tibor, Antall József Knowledge Centre is one of the famous research centres of Hungary.

The meeting is believed to promote the relationship between the two centres, contributing to the socio-economic and science technology development in the region through research collaboration as well as strengthening the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Hungary and other countries in Southeast Asia in the future.
