MEETING WITH JAPANESE DIRECTOR OF ASAHI STEEL COMPANY KIMIHIKO SAKABE

The Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies had a meeting with Kimihiko Sakabe, Director of Asahi Steel Company (Japan) on May 24 at its office.

The Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies had a meeting with Kimihiko Sakabe, Director of Asahi Steel Company (Japan) on May 24 at its office.

Sakabe was accompanied by Ngo Huynh Kinh Luan, an expert of the company in Japan. Asahi Steel Company was established in 1935, specializing in manufacturing and trading products cast in steel. The company’s motto is customers’ trust and employees’ happiness. Asahi’s regular customers include Toyota Motor Corporation, Japan Fishcher Company, Aichi Steel Company, etc.

The purpose of Sakabe’s business trip this time is looking for human resources in Vietnam to be trained and work in Japan. After his visit to the HCMC University of Social Sciences and Humanities, he came to Dong Du Japanese School and highly valued human resources training there.

Aiming at expanding his business and increasing human resources in Vietnam, Sakabe wished to foster closer cooperation in the training of intellectuals and promote exchanges among the countries in the region, especially between Vietnam and Japan.

Upon this occasion, the Japanese director also donated money to the Miyazaki Scholarship Fund, which awards scholarships to students from Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar.
