OFFICALS OF SHINSEI BANK (JAPAN) MAKING FINAL PRESENTATION AFTER MARKET RESEARCH

, 13/08/2013 14:08

Dr. Tran Dinh Lam attended the final presentation on a 2-month market research (June 18 – August 09, 2013) by Junya Nakamura and Kazuto Daijo, two senior officials of Shinsei Bank (Japan), at the HCMC University of Social Sciences and Humanities on the afternoon of August 09, 2013.

With the purpose of gaining more knowledge of financial market, especially car loan and credit cards, the two Shinsei Bank officials, through the introduction of Alue Company, came to Vietnam to do some market research within 2 months. During this period of time, besides listening to lectures on economics, society, culture and business in Vietnam presented by prestigious professors (including Prof. Ngo Thi Phuong Thien, Prof. Truong Quang, Dr. Duong Ngoc Dung and Dr. Tran Dinh Lam), they spent a week studying at Saigonbank and three weeks at Mirae Asset Group.

In addition to research weeks at the above-mentioned bank and company, Junya Nakamura and Kazuto Daijo also had fieldwork and visited some others, such as the Saigon Transportation Mechanical Corporation (SAMCO), Techcombank and Indovinabank. Through discussion with these companies’ leaders, they gained more understanding of procedures for car loan and credit card market in Vietnam during recent years.

In their presentation, they talked about the similarities in finance between Japan and Vietnam as well as lessons drawn from the research period. They added that they would do more studies on Vietnamese market, and then come back to invest in Vietnam with appropriate products and services.

Dr. Tran Dinh Lam expressed his happiness after helping the two Shinsei Bank senior officials have a successful market research. He also hopes that Vietnam will attract more investment from Japanese enterprises so it can learn from Japanese working style and models to enhance domestic human resources.
