Professors and graduates from UBAYA, Indonesia, together with representatives of HCMC USSH at the seminar.

The talk’s topic was about the Vietnam’s economy and the process of implementing the foreign investment law. Some questions which were raised at the talk were how to attract foreign investment, the state’s role in creating an open environment for domestic enterprises and helping facilitate businesses’ manufacture so that they can create competitive products in the world market.

Human resources distribution also drew the professors’ concern. It is very necessary for every one in the whole society to gain benefits from the achievements of the country’s reform and economic growth. An issue which needs special attention in the changing process is the lack of transparency in planning and market, which has been causing corruption, disappointing people and making the society come to a standstill.

The attending professors also discussed common features during the economic reform of Indonesia after a long period of time as a closed country. The roles of education and law in the development process are crucial for each country during its industrialization.
