Assoc. Prof. Vo Van Sen – President of HCMC USSH had a speech at the two books' premiere.
As for the other book, titled “The culture of Vietnamese people in the southwest of Vietnam” (Prof. Tran Ngoc Them as the chief author), it has 3 sections: Section 1 presents the theoretical and practical basis for carrying out studies on Vietnamese people’s culture in the southwest of Vietnam, section 2 is about the cultural elements of Vietnamese people in this region, and the last section presents a system of specific features in their cultural behaviors. In addition to building an overall picture of cultural elements of Vietnamese people in the southwest of Vietnam and getting understanding of specific cultural behaviors to specify the cultural identity of the region, the goal of this project is also to help get more in-depth knowledge of this field, based on which explanations for the problems arising in socio-cultural life nowadays (such as the issue of women living in this region getting married with foreigners, the issue of education and human development, etc.) can be given.
The two books’ premiere has drawn special attention of scholars and researchers in culture and culturology. They are also highly valued by the leaders of HCMC USSH in particular and of Vietnam National University – HCMC in general.
