THE TRIP TO VINA KRAFT PAPER COMPANY LIMITED

On the afternoon of October 17^th 2014, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam and Dr. Ishida Masami  from Institute for Developing Economies studies, Thailand together with Dr. Augn Min from Institute for Developing strategy studies, Myanmar had a visit to Vina Kraft Paper Company Limited (SCG paper) in  My Phuoc III Industrial Park, Ben Cat, Binh Duong.

The aim of the visit is getting to conduct a survey and get to know about the Thais company, its parent company and influences of Thais companies to the market.

They had chance to talk to Mr. Prakorb Pikulkarntalerd (Mill Director) and Mr. Narong Yaowarat (Maintenance and Utility Department Manager).  were impressed by not only fluent Vietnamese speaking of Mr. Narong, but also the operation and producing network. An official member of Siam Cement group, with high capacity per annum, SCG paper has become the leading pulp and paper manufacturer in Southeast Asia. With innovative production line, Vina Kraft Paper produces great quantity of products which are consumed domestically and internationally.

The trip has created a bridge between Vietnam and Southeast Asian countries toward wealthy co-operations with Thailand, Laos, Myanmar…
