According to Consul General Harumitsu Hida, the Day is a practical and healthy playground to enhance the friendship and cultural exchanges between the two countries. It also provides a chance for young people to get an understanding of mutual culture and history. He loves Vietnamese people’s creativity and hard-working attitude, wishing the Vietnam – Japan relations to reach a new high in the future. The Consul General considers Vietnam as his second fatherland, hoping to have more contributions for this friendship.

Mr. Hiramitsu Hida gave a speech at the opening of the ceremony.

On that Day, professional Japanese artists from Da Da Da Dan Tenko Band introduced and performed traditional drums. In addition, there were also other activities such as Yosakoi dancing, Japanese martial art, cosplay contest, Japanese cuisine with traditional dishes and an exhibition of modern paintings by Japanese artists.

An interesting activity of the Day was a singing contest for student groups who are not majoring in Japanese language with the presence of several Vietnamese artists such as Hong Hanh, Nguyen Vu, Chi Thien, and Phu Sa trio. The HCMC University of Pedagogy and Huflit University won the prizes.
