VIETNAM INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON FINANCE
, 22/07/2015 09:07On June 04, 2015, the 2015 Vietnam International Conference in Finance (VICIF 2015) took place at the University of Economics and Law, attracting an enormous number of domestic and international scholars to attend.
The conference was hosted by the University of Economics and Law HCMC (UEL), jointly organized by the Vietnam Finance Association International (VFAI) and the Foreign Trade University (FTU).

Attendees consisted of representatives of VFAI, Board of Trustees of the Hanoi FTU and the UEL – Vietnam National University-HCMC, more than 100 scientists, experts, scholars, lecturers, researchers, postgraduates, students and famous managers, both domestic and international, in the fields of economics and finance.

VICIF 2015 is an international conference on in-depth financial issues in Vietnam. Academics attended and delivered their scientific presentations. The atmosphere of the conference was really exciting when the participants got involved in discussing issues in finance and economics.

The conference focused on promoting research and discussions about key issues relating to finance in Vietnam and Asia as well as the worldwide finance market at present.

Well-written studies and papers presented at the conference would be chosen for publication on Research in International Business and Finance; Review of Pacific Basin Financial Markets and Policies, etc.

The scholars highlighted the importance of financial models and expressed their wish to cooperate and contribute to the development of Vietnam’s economics and finance. Also, they highly valued the role of young intellectuals at the UEL in particular and Vietnamese students in general.
Considered as an international conference, VICIF 2015 opened a big forum for Vietnamese scientists as well as counterparts in other countries in Southeast Asia, Asia, Europe and America.

The event brought an open space for scholars to exchange their ideas in financial issues these days. Moreover, VICIF 2015 played a role as a forum on economics and finance for academics, practitioners and business managers in the field of finance and banking to share interests and present new research results. That was also a chance for experts to discuss current and challenging issues in finance and related topics in Vietnam and worldwide.

Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, Director of the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, was impressed with economic and financial models shared by the scholars. He said that the conference was a very meaningful event. Such theoretical models would be beneficial to Vietnam’s economic and financial issues. Additionally, the conference has offered a good environment for students to learn and do more research as well as building a bridge for domestic universities to have more connection and cooperation with other universities in the world.
