HANDOVER AND BRINGING INTO USE PARCEL OF BOOKS FOR PROJECT TOURIST
, 11/09/2020 15:09On September 8th, 2020, a handover and bringing into use parcel of books for the “Competence Center for the Development of Sustainable Tourism and Innovative Financial Management Strategies to Increase the Positive Impact of Local Tourism in Thailand and Vietnam” project (TOURIST*) took place in the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH), Ho Chi Minh National University.
Taking part in the session are the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Members of the Acceptance and Handover Board included: MA. Ho Quang Trinh - Vice Chairman of Staff Union, MA. Nguyen Thi Hong Van - Head of the People’s Inspection Board, Dr. Pham Thanh Duy - Head of General Administration Department, MA. Nguyen Van Sinh - Head of Equipment Management Department, Dr. Tran Anh Tien - Head of Science Management and External Relations Department, MA. Ho Quang Vien - Head of Finance and Planning Department, Dr. Ngo Thanh Loan - Director of Center for Developing Sustainable Tourism Related Skills , MA. Nguyen Vo Hoang Mai - Deputy Head of Equipment Management Department, MA. Duong Van Tu - Deputy Head of Finance and Planning Department and MA. Bui Tran Vinh Thai - Deputy Head of Equipment Management Department and Dr. Tran Dinh Lam - Director of Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies.

In the session, the Acceptance and Handover Board cross checked and evaluated the parcel of books based on the number of books and their condition which are stated in the contract; afterward, they agreed with bringing these books into use later on. This parcel of books, as part of project TOURIST, includes 69 English books mainly talking about tourism relations with the economy, culture, society, etc. and tourism from different perspectives. This is considered as an invaluable reference for lecturers and students toward sustainable development tourism in the near future.
After cross-checking and evaluating, Dr. Ngo Thanh Loan expressed her appreciation to the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies not only because of this parcel of books but also for their dedication to the University throughout many projects. After that, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam recommended putting all the books in the University’s Library so that they are easily accessible and available for readers. The Acceptance and Handover Board ultimately accepted the recommendation and committed to doing it as soon as possible.

(*) TOURIST, also known as "Development of Sustainable Tourism and Innovative Financial Management Strategies to increase the positive impact of local tourism in Thailand and Vietnam" in Vietnamese, is a three-year project spanning from 2017 to 2020. The project is funded by the EU’s Eramus+ and overseen by FH Joanneum (Austria); other associates including Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Hue University, and Ho Chi Minh University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
