INTERNSHIP IN HANOI OF TOURISM STUDENTS - TOURIST PROJECT
, 14/04/2021 21:04From 27th March to 9th April, five students from the faculty of Tourism, USSH VNUHCM carried out an internship for tourism training at Center of Sustainable Tourism, Faculty of Tourism, USSH VNUHN. The activity is a part of Package No.4 of TOURIST project, aiming to enhance capability of Competence Centers as well as connecting Vietnamese and Thai students involved in the project.
Five students from HCMUSSH paid a visit to USSH VNU HN in Hanoi
During the internship in Hanoi, the students were introduced briefly about USSH VNU HN . They also had a chance to attend several academic talks hosted by the Faculty of Tourism, a department known as one of the most reliable and influential institutes in tourism studies and pedagogical activities. The students from HCM also joined dozens of interesting activities held by their peers and the faculty lecturers.
On 31st March, the team had a chance to explore the USSH university campus in Hanoi. After that, Assoc.Prof Dr. Pham Hong Long - Head of Faculty of Tourism and Bui Nhat Quynh, M.A - Research Assistant had a meeting with Duong Thi Huu Hien M.A - lecturer of Faculty of Tourism, HCMUSSH and TOURIST students to discuss the objectives and main activities of the internship in Hanoi.

On the next day, a seminar on “How to showcase Vietnamese traditional art effectively for international tourists” was co-hosted by the Faculty of Tourism and speaker Dr Le Anh - Lecturer of the Faculty of Tourism. The seminar provided the students with insights into the integration of cultural features into tourism activities, especially folk art forms originated from the North. The students also had an opportunity to pose questions in regards to exploiting and applying cultural - spiritual - religious values in travel programs for both inbound and outbound visitors so that they can understand more about Vietnamese culture but we can also preserve our traditional customs.

The following activity was the exchange session with the English for Tourism club, run by students of the Faculty of Tourism. The visiting students from HCM presented activities and knowledge that they have learned from the TOURIST project. Besides, they recommended some must-visit destinations in the HCM City tour to their Hanoian friends.
The exchange session with E4T club
On 8th April, a webinar was held with the attendance of four universities from Vietnam and Thailand: Burapha University, Prince of Songkla University and USSH VNUHCM, USSH VNUHN. The conference’s aim was to disseminate TOURIST centers in each university as well as to exchange experience through the introduction of model attractions promoting sustainable and local tourism. This was also a chance for TOURIST participants to connect with each other in order to foster long-term cooperation in the future.
