The program lasted 14 days from 20th March to 2nd April, with the purpose of studying the tourism market in the South, exchanging experience in practicing consulting services and strengthening the close relationship among TOURIST’s network members.

Five TOURIST’s member students from Ha Noi visited the Independent Palace

During the trip, the group of students was guided by their colleagues from the Faculty of Tourism, VNUHCM USSH to well-known destinations in HCMC such as the Independent Palace, Thien Hau temple and Jade Emperor pagoda. They also conducted a scientific study on sustainable development in Can Gio mangrove forest in Can Gio District, HCMC. In addition, they joined the talk hosted by Dr Chung Hoang Chuong-Senior Researcher, International Research Center, VNUHCM USSH on Pro-tourism and Anti-tourism: “The case of Hawaii and the Delta”. The academic meeting was held at CVSEAS office on 24th March in Thu Duc City. Through the trip, the exchange students have gained more knowledge of the tourism market in Southern Vietnam, especially its sustainable development. The program was  not only an opportunity for the students to exchange knowledge and experience but also an academic exchange between two tourism training hubs in Vietnam. It is hoped that participants of the TOURIST project will continue similar activities to spread the project’s values as well as promoting sustainable development in Vietnam.
