WORKSHOP: ECO-CULTURAL TOURISM DEVELOPMENT IN NINH THUAN LOTUS VILLAGE
On December 7th, 2020, the executive committee of TOURIST project and TOURIST’s members had a workshop with Dr. Quang Dai Tuyen - Lecturer of Faculty of Tourism - Van Lang University about the development of eco-cultural tourism of lotus village in Ninh Thuan province. The workshop had the participation of Dr. Tran Dinh Lam - Director of CVSEAS and Ms. Le Nhat Tan - Joie Garden Vietnam Co. Ltd. The workshop was within the framework of work package No.4 implementing the Center for Development of Sustainable Tourism.
TOURIST MEMBERS EXPERIENCED LOCAL CULTURE IN THE WORKSHOP: CONSTRUCTING THE TRADITIONAL RURAL VALUES FOR VIETNAM LOTUS ECO VILLAGE.
On December 3rd & 4th, 2020, within the framework of work package No.4 of TOURIST project, funded by the EU’s Erasmus+, six students from the Faculty of Tourism, USSH had a field trip to Phuc Khang Corporation’s green projects, which were Vietnam Lotus Eco Village Urban Area (Long An Province), Diamond Lotus Riverside Project (District 8, HCMC) and Green Gallery (District 1, HCMC). The trip was a part of the workshop: “Constructing traditional rural values for Vietnam Lotus Eco Village”, organized by Phuc Khang Corporation, Thu Dau Mot University (TDMU), and Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies (CVSEAS) - USSH.
THE VIETNAM EMPLOYABILITY AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP SUPPORT NETWORK SIGNING CEREMONY IN HANOI
On October 29th and 30th, 2020 in Hanoi University of Science and Technology, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City National University had attended the signing ceremony VEES-NET within the framework of the project V2WORK. The representatives of HCM USSH were Dr. Phan Thanh Dinh – Vice Chancellor, Dr. Tran Le Hoa Tranh - Director of the Center for Career Orientation and Human Resource Development (Career Center), Dr. Tran Dinh Lam – Director of the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies. This is the network of cooperation from 8 universities around Vietnam with the aim of helping post-graduate students looking for a job. The network is conducted with the support of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and AIESEC Vietnam.
TALK WITH DR. HA VAN SIEU ON TOURISM POST COVID-19 PANDEMIC
“Tourism after Covid-19 is geared toward community-based tourism”, said Dr Ha Van Sieu, Vice Chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT). Discussing the TOURIST project* with Dr Tran Dinh Lam, he strongly emphasized the idea of developing community-based tourism. The meeting took place on October 10th, 2020 at the headquarters of VNAT in Ha Noi.
DISCOVERING POTENTIAL FOR SUSTAINABLE WATERWAY TOURISM IN HO CHI MINH CITY
On October 17th, 2020, the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies (CVSEAS) conducted fieldwork on the Nhieu Loc Canal, Ho Chi Minh City as part of Work Package 4 of project TOURIST*. The occasion also doubled as an opportunity for consultation between experts on the development of sustainable waterway tourism on the Nhieu Loc Canal.
ERASMUS SEMINAR 2020: SHARE, EXCHANGE AND COOPERATE FOR DEVELOPMENT
On October 16th, 2020 representatives from 18 universities across Vietnam joined the “Building a network amongst participants running the project funded by ERAMUS ” seminar hosted by Ho Chi Minh University of Natural Resources and Environment (HCMUNRE) via Google Meet. Dr. Lê Thị Kim Thoa, Vice Dean of Faculty of Marine resources and islands management organized the seminar to introduce on-going projects and share challenges when implementing them in reality.
