ONLINE DISCUSSION BETWEEN HCMUSSH STUDENTS (VIETNAM) AND PSU STUDENTS (THAILAND)

, 23/06/2020 15:06

On June 10th, 2020, an online discussion among ten hand-picked students from Ho Chi Minh University of Social Sciences and Humanities (HCMUSSH) and Prince of Songkla University (PSU) was held via Google Meet. The discussion was chaired by Dr. Chatchawan – Representative of PSU and  Dr. Tran Dinh Lam – Director of Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies as part of project TOURIST*.

Tourism undergraduates from HCMUSSH met their counterparts from PSU’s Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism to talk about the upcoming exchange program and other tourism-related matters. Throughout the discussion, students from both universities gave overviews of universities and well-known tourist attractions across Ho Chi Minh City and Phuket, as well as talked about their own academic work amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Fellow students from PSU, in addition, expressed their wishes and expectations for their soon to come staying in Ho Chi Minh City.

Following the project’s three-year plan, undergraduates from Prince of Songkla are to spend time at Ho Chi Minh Universities of Social Sciences and Humanities to study sustainable tourism, managing the TOURIST Center and introducing it to the rest of the world. Likewise, USSH students are to attend Burapha University in the "Land of Smiles" and pursue similar goals.
