Dr. Tran Dinh Lam participated as a speaker for the seminar.
Intending to share knowledge in the fields of South Korea – Vietnam relations, the discussion attracted the participation of nearly 50 graduate students and interested individuals at the Busan University of Foreign Studies - Korea.
In the presentation, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam introduced theoretical models of development resources such as capital, labor, science and technology, natural resources, and the contribution of each resource to the process of economic growth. In particular, Dr. emphasized that the role of human resources is always a key factor for all development.

Dr. Tran Dinh Lam mentioned Korea's development principles, important achievements in relations between Vietnam and Korea as well and the models that Vietnam needs to learn for development. Dr. Tran Dinh Lam presented Korean lessons in changing mindsets to integrate and bring Korea into the new village model - Saemaul Undong, which was launched in 1970 to modernize the rural economy of Korea. During this period, the new village model helped the Korean countryside to develop positively. The crystallization of the philosophy of change and cooperation in the village community helped the Korean economy, from a poor country in the 1960s to 1970s, develop into a modern industrial country. Besides, Dr. Tran Dinh Lam said that funding for scientific and technological research is also a lesson for Vietnam in developing high-quality human resources.
In addition to the sharing of Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, the participants in the discussion received a lot of useful knowledge through Q&A. The majority of participants are concerned about employment and income issues in Vietnam. They wanted Dr. Lam to offer a solution to solve the problem of proportionality between the cost of studying abroad and the income brought in by the country. For this issue, Dr. Lam has proposed many solutions such as: domestic enterprises need to improve product quality, and production scale and develop high-quality goods to bring more profits to pay worthy costs for workers; The government needs to recruit human resources with high professional capacity, focusing on helping enterprises develop and create more jobs. Dr. Lam also mentioned the lesson of the Philippine labor market and the labor shortage due to the low birth rate in developed countries to emphasize the important role of national internal resources and international development cooperation so that Vietnam can learn from and surpass the average income.
The conversation brought a lot of useful knowledge and experience, contributing to strengthening and maintaining good relations between Vietnamese and Korean scholars.
