STUDENTS FROM UNIVERSITY OF INNSBRUCK(AUSTRIA) ATTENDED SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAM IN VIETNAM
, 27/09/2018 15:09This annual program is co-organized by University of Innsbruck, Hanoi University of Science and Technology and USSH-HCMVNU. The program is a chance for Austrian students to learn various aspects of Vietanm, as well as, to take field trips to several popular sites in Ho Chi Minh City.

Prof.Dr. Vo Van Sen, Former President of USSH started the first lesson on Vietnam War. In his lecture, he shared with the students the progress of achieving national independence of Vietnamese people (1945-1975).

Dr. Tran Dinh Lam is sharing with the students
On September 17th, the students participated in the lecture of Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, Director of CVSEAS on “Vietnam Economic’s Reform: shifting from a centrally planned to a socialist oriented market economy, trade opening, shifting of economic policy”. Additionally, the students also listened to Dr. Trieu Thanh Le (Dean of Department of Journalism and Public Relation)’s sharing on Journalism in Vietnam.

Next day, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ngo Thi Phuong Lan, President of the USSH delivered a lecture on “The livelihood of ethnic people in Vietnam”. With her greater research experience, she discussed the strengths and challenges of policy in supporting economic development and improving lives of ethnic minorities.
Lecture on Vietnamese Cuisine, which was delivered by Luong Thien Phuc, MA, Dean of Culture and Literature Studies, Faculty of English Linguistic and Literature, covered several important factors in Vietnamese meals, including, the Yin-Yang balance in food and how Vietnamese people combine different fruits and vegetables in their food to better the taste and stimulate appetite.

The program closed with a talk of Dr. Duong Ngoc Dung from Department of Philosophy. He talked about Major religions and beliefs in Viet Nam and how these religious beliefs affects people’s thinking and perception.
