A VISIT TO THE LIBRARY OF THE UNIVERSITY OF DA NANG - UNIVERSITY OF ECONOMICS (DUE)
, 23/09/2020 18:09On July 23th 2020, CVSEAS researchers had an opportunity to see DUE’s library. Ms. Nguyen Thi Sen, an alumni of Faculty of Library and Information Sciences - USSH, Vice Director of the library, welcomed the researchers.
Taking a tour around the library, the CVSEAS team was impressed by its modern facilities in an 2000 square-meter area. Everyday the library served about 300 readers on average and up to 500 in the exam periods, stated by Ms Sen. A large number of frequent readers shows the staff’s devoting effort to their jobs as well as in providing the best services to users.
As introduced by the Vice Director, the library now has a collection of 228,806 items including a variety of books, articles and magazines. The resources can be accessed by all academic staff, graduates and postgraduates. Notably, foreign language materials have been additionally updated on the library’s website - Dspace to meet the readers’ increasing demands. The library also provides students with Library Return Forms for convenience when giving back loan books in busy time, especially in the beginning and at the end of semester. Applying Aleph software, the operation and management of the library are being improved, connecting with other members of The University of Da Nang.
Thanks to the visit, the team had more insight into how to manage a library from the experience of the University of Economics particularly and the whole network of The University of Da Nang generally. To express our appreciation, Dr. Trần Đình Lâm as the representative of CVSEAS presented the library of DUE with 2 books, “The Economic, Cultural and Social Life of Bahnar People Sustainable Development” - VNUHCM Publishing House and “Small and Medium-sized Enterprises: The Way To Success”- VNUHCM Publishing House.
